Artwork “how to”

Please let us know if you want more information in regard to the various artwork formats.  Our goal is to get you an image you are very happy with!

With the all the graphic design programs on the market today, and capturing images from the internet becoming increasingly popular, it has become more difficult to reproduce images for screen printing.  Following these guidelines will help us get your image the way you want it.

Vector Files:
Vector images are illustrations created in programs such as Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. They are resolution independent, scalable files.  They can be resized without losing quality, and are not made of pixels.  These files are always crisp and clear, and the preferred file type.  All lettering in the design must be converted to curves/outlines prior to sending to us so that there will be no changes in the fonts.  Some examples of vector file formats are: EPS, AI, CDR, DWG, DXF, EMF, WMF, and PDF (if original image was a vector file).  Vector files will create the highest quality images!

Raster Files:
Raster images are bitmap illustrations created in programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Corel Photo paint.  Any illustration created in one of these programs must be saved at a high resolution; preferable 200 dpi or higher.  We will attempt to convert the raster image to a vector image, but because of the process involved we can’t guarantee the vector image will be exactly like the raster image you send us.  Every attempt will be made to convert the image as close as possible, but that will weigh largely on the quality of the raster image you send us.  Black and white images of high resolution will convert better than colored and/or low resolution images.  Some examples of raster file formats are: BMP, GIF, JPEG, PCT, PNG, PSD, SCT, SVG, SWF, TGA, and TIFF.

Internet Files:
Any illustration captured from the internet will be a very low resolution and very low quality.  It is only recommended sending us these images for design ideas.  We will not be able to reproduce the image exactly, but we can try and create an image of similar style and scope.

We are more than happy to create your image for you.  All you have to do is tell us what you’d like the illustration to look like and we’ll do the work for you!
